I consider myself very fortunate to have lived in and continue to be inspired by the very beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk countryside, its scenery and wildlife.
Alongside juggling a career spanning over 40 years, I managed to study embroidery and textiles part-time, gaining City and Guilds qualifications. I was fortunate in gaining a place at the Norwich University of the arts, to study textile design, finally graduating in 2016. From then on I commenced my ‘second career’ working from my home studio.
I work with a diverse range of mixed media and textile techniques, including hand stitch, free machine embroidery, applique, wet and dry felting, dyeing, and eco.printing. with special emphasis on creating appropriate textures. Birds and animals feature highly in the designs. Other materials included in my stitch work have been the use of wood and metal.
Examples of my work can be seen at the Earsham Hall Gallery.
Annual exhibitions can be seen alongside my husband Roger’s sculptures in Woodbridge and Snape Maltings.
