Roger Bacon

Having served and indentured apprenticeship in the woodwork industry, I qualified as a Craft and Design teacher.  After a few years I left the profession and started my own business designing and making bespoke furniture.  Utilising the aforementioned skills I eventually progressed into sculpture.

Working in English hardwoods the sculptures are based on the human form.  Timber selection is of vital importance in order to display the pattern of the grain to its best

advantage.A great deal of time is spent preparing the finish in order that the tactile qualities of the work can be appreciated.

My work is displayed at the Earsham Hall Gallery.

Previous exhibitions have been held at The Forum, Norwich.  Snape Maltings,

Woodbridge, Blakeney and Blickling Hall in North Norfolk
